QR Decode
Upload, drag, paste a screenshot or scan with the camera — QR codes decoded locally; URLs, WiFi passwords and 2FA secrets get one-click actions.
A free online QR decoder: upload, drag in, paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V, or point your camera at a code — the content appears instantly. Decoding runs entirely in your browser (jsQR); neither images nor the camera stream is ever uploaded. URLs get an “Open link” button, WiFi share codes are parsed into SSID + password with one-click copy, and otpauth 2FA codes can be added straight into Zapbox’s 2FA tool.
How to use
- Drop a QR image in, click to pick one, or just Ctrl+V a screenshot.
- The content shows instantly, auto-classified: URL / WiFi / 2FA / plain text.
- Use the matching action: open the link, copy the WiFi password, or add the 2FA secret to the 2FA tool.
- For a physical code, switch to “Camera scan” and point at it.
FAQ
- Is my image uploaded?
- No. jsQR runs entirely in your browser — images, pasted screenshots and the camera feed never leave your device. Local images even decode offline.
- Are barcodes supported?
- Not yet — only QR codes (the common square kind). Barcodes / DataMatrix may come later if there is demand.
- Why does my image fail to decode?
- Usual causes: the code is tiny in the image (crop to it first), blurry or glary, or partially covered. Screenshots beat photos of screens; with the camera, move closer and centre the code.
- What happens with a 2FA QR code?
- When an otpauth:// URI is detected you get an “Add to 2FA tool” button that carries the secret into Zapbox’s authenticator — codes then work on any device (end-to-end-encrypted sync when signed in).
